A contemplation of David
My heart is severely pained within me, And the terrors of death have fallen upon me. Fearfulness and trembling have come upon me, And horror has overwhelmed me. So I said, "Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest
Indeed, I would wander far off,
And remain in the wilderness.
I would hasten my escape from the windy
storm and tempest."
Psalm 55:4-8

Always remember, there is

My eyes read the words,
and my soul touched the tears . . .
of a King as he sought out
God's peace for his years.

We are not unlike this one
who sat on his throne . . .
realizing, even there,
he felt all alone.

Is it any wonder, as you and I
go through each of our days, . . .
that we would be different than David
who each day sang God's praise?

I believe God knows of each moment
that is coming our way . . .
and He knew I'd have times
when my faith it would sway.

Did He leave David when he
poured out his heart?
Did God turn his back . . .
No! He was there from the start.

He was there from the beginning . . .
He'll be there to the end.
And we'll know that He's walked . . .
every path where we've been.

Faith! The possession we
cannot live without . . .
For without it our days would be
frought with unbearable doubt.

He knows me. He knows you . . .
as he knew David the King.
God understands all our weaknesses,
and knows the feel of earth's stings.

He won't leave us, He promised . . .
and despite how we feel . . .
His Grace and His Love are there . . . they are real.

"You and I may not rule thousands . . .
we may only touch one.
And that one could touch millions,
in a life that you won."

Yes, even David was afraid and depressed. He had the desire to run from problems, which is a common trait of all mankind. Don't think for one minute that you are alone in these valleys. God is on His throne and David turned to Him, sometimes in fear, but always in the knowledge that He was (and is) there!
And He is STILL there! Everything is in God's untimate control.
If we believe that, why do we live in fear?
Because we are believing satan's lies.
Sit and read David's Journal - David's words . . . and you cannot help but know in your own heart that
GOD IS SOVERIGN!
