Like the majesty of swirling storms
that sweep across the seas,
my life goes from torrential rains
to a warm and gentle breeze.
Can you grab a storm and hold it back?
Keeping it from moving in?
No, my friend, you can only know
that the mightiest of storms will end.
We cannot always know from where
the winds and clouds will rise.
They come rolling out of nowhere
leaving us trembling at their size.
But I have a promise from One who holds
the winds and clouds and rain.
That He controls the summer breeze
and the mighty hurricane.
Gazing into the sky today,
I know not what's in store.
The thing I know, without a doubt,
is the One who loves me more . . .
More than I can realize,
is the love He has for me.
No matter what today will bring
He'll protect and comfort me.
Oh, when I see the churning clouds,
turning angry in the sky,
I can but say, "Oh, Father, . . .
please do let it pass me by."
But winds will blow and lightning flash,
trees bending to the earth.
Like me, the roots are being tested,
and new strength is being birthed.
If He kept from us the storms of life
and gave but gentle breeze . . .
how would this build unfailing faith . . .
on calm and mirrored seas?
"There is a reason," He tells me,
as the swirling winds begin to blow.
"Depend on me," He whispers,
"because I love you so."

It is so easy for us to cry out 'why?' . . . but God is with us no matter what we face.
If we can focus our attention on the opportunities of today. Be thankful for the challenges that make us trust in God. Only when we can surrender each of these trials and ask for His help, will we see His majesty and might.
Is this easy? No. For we are ordinary women. He tells us to 'lean on Him' . . . Today, if only for a moment, 'lean on God'. Allow Him to be your strength.
He's waiting for us to ask Him.
"Build my faith through the storms, Father. For I cannot make it on my own."
