Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you.
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10

Tears drop. Tears fall . . .
upon my path, once so clear.
I was so confident and sure . . .
'til my heart filled with fear.

Is this my road?
Or is that the right one?
Should I walk . . .
or should I run?

Confusion whirled as I listened
to the voiceless words that they spoke.
"I'll take you to happiness."
The other whispering, "I'll lead you to hope."

Which one do I heed?
Which one do I walk?
Will it matter to the overall scheme . . .
which battles I fought?

At that moment in time, . . .
standing at this dark fork in the road,
all the things I was sure of vanished,
I knew not which way to go.

I felt so alone,
standing there in the rain.
Wrapped in a mantel of anguish
I tried to cover my pain.

If no one can see it . . .
if no one can tell.
I can go on living a lie . . .
Who will see that I fell?

As I knelt in the mud praying,
the rain clouds moved away . . .
one path, lit by sunlight,
clearly showed me the way.

A voice whispered,
like soft wind through the trees . . .
"My daughter, rise up and walk,
keep your eyes upon me."

My mantel fell to the ground.
My pain and confusion were gone.
There was but one path
lit by the sun.

As you pass through this crossroad. . .
at different times in your life,
know I've been there.
Filled with struggle and strife.

You are not different.
And you're not alone.
For at the end of the path . . .
is that place we'll call home.

by which the rising sun will come
to us from heaven to shine on those
living in darkness, to guide our feet
into the path of peace." Luke 1:78-79
