Yes, our lives are so very busy. Filled with noise, demands and obligations. There are times when I want to just scream out, "BE QUIET!"To live in this world is to be bombarded by sounds that make us feel as if there is no place to find peace and comfort.
We think about stillness. We long for it . . . but finding it is something quite different. When was the last time you felt calm and enveloped in unconditional love?
Can you even remember?
Today, will you take a moment to bring yourself to that place?
Finding that still, quiet place must be the first thing I do each day. Find it . . . spend some time there. Then, putting that place into my heart, going about my day, . . .
knowing that I am loved, cared for and comforted by a faithful Father
offering me peace and grace.
If only we could keep an inner calm and peace, right here in our hearts, while we go about our daily lives. That's my prayer. How can I live the life the Lord wants for me, when all about me is turmoil?
It is from this place that we find a way to speak in soothing, comforting ways to those around us. You will not believe the changes that will take place in your life, when you carry with you 'this place of peace.'
And for this wonderful gift, what does He ask from me and you? To spend some time with Him. So little to ask for all He gives so freely.
You and I have no greater friend than Jesus.
WHAT KIND OF FRIEND DO YOU WANT?
Faithfulness,
honesty,
loving,
understanding,
comforting,
available,
supportive,
confidant,
counselor,
accepting,
peace-giver,
forgiving?
To name only a few.
When your list is completed . . . only one matchless name will do.
Only one is the true friend.
Jesus!
"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you: not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
John 14:27
A marvelous way to spend time
with this Friend is to Journal.
Truly, it is a 'neverending conversation with God.'
For me, it was the only way I could feel really connected to my Lord. I've been journaling since I was a child. Not always with the focus on talking with God, . . . but over the past ten years, that has changed. I found it was the way to share my life with God in an intimate and very personal way. And I could see, in my own handwriting that my faith was exploding.
