Each moment is a journey
of life's twisting, turning trail.
Some take me to wondrous places.
Others onto raging waves to sail.

"I can't take it!" "I give up!"
These words rise toward my lips.
The world around me swirls with chaos
hands grab my soul and start to rip.

The hands feel all too familiar.
They have siezed me many times before.
The words spoken by the enemy
do not tell the truth of what's in store.

The tempting promises I'm hearing
of a journey I can choose to take.
Do not come from one who loves me
but from one who lives but to forsake.

The Fallen Angel knows my weakness
With greedy fingers, he always hovers near.
Whispering words of doubt that my God
will not answer prayers ... and does not even hear.

But he lies! I've heard his words before.
His journeys taken have brought such pain.
He makes promises he can't deliver.
My hope and faith he wants to drain.

It would be so easy to take in all the lies.
"God, help me!" I cry out.
My God not only hears me, but in a blink
His angels' wings are all about.

"Wait upon the Lord," He tells me.
"I knew the tempations you would face."
No moment comes and passes ...
that I am not standing in your place.

When next a journey's offered to some exotic place,
Know where the ship is headed and the captain at the wheel.
There are many destinations ... choose wisely
For there is only 'one' that your destiny will seal.
