The changing of the seasons
brings so many memories.
It tells my heart that time is passing
like the falling of the leaves.

First there was the springtime
with its new and fresh bouquet.
Then the warmth of summer
when sun lingered in the day.

As the days are passing . . .
and the lives of those I love
are changing, ever moving
as on wings of hummingbirds.

If I would but let it,
it could make me feel so sad.
But what I must embrace instead,
is the joy of what I've had.

My life is filled with melodies,
each plays a different part.
They write the symphony of my life
as they dance across my heart.

Today, I must reach and embrace
those who my life does touch.
For today too soon will be
the yesterday that means so much.

No one else can make for me
the memories so dear.
It's up to me to fill my days
with joy and love and cheer.

The smile I missed, the hand not touched,
a card of cheer not sent.
Don't let me wonder at the chances passed . . .
as the trees of fall are bent

When winter comes and cold winds swirl
and life needs the warmth of spring.
Let me find it in my memories
and the happiness they bring.
