Can I do it?
Can I handle all that life brings my way?
Am I strong enough to hold the path
and not just run away?

The one thing that gives me courage . . .
the one promise that holds me up,
Is knowing that beyond myself
is One who drank this cup.

He lived the life, He walked the paths . . .
that today you and I must walk.
Without a doubt He holds my hand . . .
and my battles He has already fought.

Beyond myself there is a power . . .
so mighty and so strong.
Why do I forget that He is there . . .
and try to face each day alone?

His heart breaks as He sees me struggling . . .
in such pain and care.
Knowing if I'd but look beyond myself
I'd see Him waiting there.

Beyond myself so much is waiting.
Such strength and surronding love.
Beyond myself I will ever find
the comfort of the Dove.

Today, as I face my life . . .
if only I will open my eyes to see,
Beyond myself there is a hope
just waiting there for me.
